So am I. But I understand statistics and network effects. by tdiddy07

But it doesn’t guarantee anything, vaccinated people are dying in increasing numbers, and the vulnerability has led to the CDC recommending it for vaccinated people. So it is pretty childish to complain if a party like ND required it for a major public event. It’s not a terribly onerous sacrifice to wear a mask in the interests of public health when we’re at one of the highest points of the pandemic. If a store doesn’t want to mandate it, fine. But ND should view its mission differently. It doesn’t of course because Swarbrick has never viewed protecting the safety of children as his job, especially vulnerable people like kids. Refusing to either mandate vaccine, negative tests, or masks at one of the high points of the pandemic is a clear money grab. Part of the problem in this conversation is that various people have it out for particular remedies they find inconvenient, so they employ either shot logic or simply short-sighted logic to prop up other remedies in whatever way let’s them just do what they want anyway.

When does it end? Again. Stop being obtuse. Maybe when people aren’t dying so much. It’s a pretty easy to understand. Just because it’s been going on for awhile doesn’t mean it’s better. It’s actually worse right now and will be until we get over the current humps. In the meantime, we shouldn’t be trying to cherry pick remedies because we’re frustrated. Everybody is frustrated. But my frustration shouldn’t dictate public health policies by ignoring the harm around me.

If ND mandated vaccination or recent recovery proof, then I wouldn’t care as much about masks. But if it isn’t doing that and isn’t mandating masks, then it really doesn’t give a shit about public safety. Or public leadership.
