Kinda hard to spread Covid if you don’t have it.

I’ve also read elsewhere that the vaccine helps your immune system clear the virus quicker if you’re infected, which means you’d be contagious/infected for a shorter time frame.

So, yes, the vaccine helps slow the spread. In a nutshell: the peak viral load for infected vaccinated and unvaccinated is the same, but infected vaccinated people are at that peak for fewer days/weeks as their immune system is able to remove the virus from their system more quickly, and of course are less likely to even get infected at all.
