I'm not sure what is corrupt here by jt

companies are free to hire individuals to endorse their products. Schools are free to compensate coaches at a fair rate as well; let's not forget the great sacrifices that coach Kelly made at the end of the 2012 season to ensure that such hard working coaches and smart men like Bob Diaco could afford to have a nice salary and live in a nice neighborhood, etc.

Regulation for these different schools spread throughout the country with different goals, standards, etc. is like trying to nail jello to the wall. It is doomed to fail. Witness the Baylor fiasco. If you limit the number of schools and have centralized management (similar to the NFL) it has a chance of working. But the schools that would be critical to the success of such a league are more apt to want to have a free for all than they are to want to regulate income. Furthermore, when it comes to name and likeness issues, there appear to be some pretty significant legal hurdles to overcome.

Once this became a cash grab by the schools and the University presidents there was no turning back.
