The rules themselves are now favoring RPO mroe and more. by bleedsgreen04

It forces defenses to have to cover more ground. I still think that you can go with a rush heavy, ball control offense even with heavy RPO elements. The problem is that you also need to ability to score quickly over the top, and that's something Kelly's offense has never been able to do in his tenure here at Notre Dame.

At the end of the day this team needs to be recruiting a 5 star WR at least once every two years, and a 5 star QB at least once every 3, with some high ceiling 4 stars at both positions besides the fact. We need to always have a WR that's going to give the other team's best players fits and starts to cover (something all of these national championship teams have had) and a QB who can deliver the ball to them well.

And I still think that if you have a deep threat at WR, it will make your run game that much more effective. Likewise if your run game is flowing well throughout the game, you'll get some receivers breaking deep.
