• Please do not copy entire articles into your post; rather, provide links to them.. We are now links-only for ALL Internet publications. If only a small portion of the article pertains to your post, Fair Use allows you to copy those one or two paragraphs, provided you cite the author's name and the publication for which he writes. Otherwise, put a link in the HTTP Link box.
• Even if you're copying a reference to an article, provide a link to the page from which the article came. We're trying to cut down on duplicate topics, and the posting process will check the link to your article to see if it's already being discussed on this board. At the very least, you'll save yourself some grief on the boards.
• If your first reaction after reading the article you're going to share is the author is uninformed / stupid / a jerk / all of the above, it's not worth sharing with anyone. Groundhogs Day: BK & JS focus on excuses rather than what by Hickster

needs to be done to be successful, which is to win a National Championship, and at least being in the game until the end (but NCs need to be won with a minimum of 1 or 2 every decade).

Lowering the bar and declaring victory is dishonest. JS's propaganda of making a 10 win season a measure of success, while playing a watered down schedule with more games to get there is self-promotion not an honest self-evaluation. I guess Ara's 1966 9-0-1 season would not have lived up to JS's standards.

The problem is if their is a talent-gap (like a missile-gap) it is not corrected overnight. It takes 3 years to get that corrected, and it is even more difficult because the next year recruits are making their decisions primarily by mid-September of the football season.

It has taken BK 10 years to figure out that he needs to recruit in the Top 5, which shows his ignorance regarding the "Key Success Factors" in being the Head Coach at ND.
- Leadership: Culture of Excellence, Ethics & Total Dedication to Success.
- Staff: Best Assistants Possible (Strong coaches should be coming from Texas A&M, not going there).

Immediately, Father Jenkins needs to pull BK into his office, and tell him his post- Rose Bowl press conference was a total embarrassment to ND and to himself as a leader at ND. His self serving excuses due to his lack of commitment to his job will not be tolerated. He needs to provide a plan to Fr. Jenkins (and reviewed by BOT Byron Spruell), that is edited by Fr. Jenkins as acceptable, and shows meaningful success against the plan. You cannot have JS as part of the process, because his client is JS and his reputation, not ND. If he fails to make meaningful progress against the plan then needs to be removed.
