Bama punched the defense in the mouth. After getting pantsed on the first three possessions Lea made his adjustments and Saban started managing the game a bit. But the defense fought to keep us in at. That being said, I don’t think we were going to stop them on offense if they really wanted to take it to us.

On offense we moved the ball well. We controlled the line of scrimmage in the running game. Passing game was a different story. If Book didn’t scramble he hardly had time to pass. In the handful of times we had open receivers he either missed the read, the pass was dropped, or there was a short completion. Downfield passes weren’t going to happen. One interception and another nearly picked. Rees did well to play to the strengths with the running backs and tight ends. Even with Tremble hurt.

If we’re going to give Lea a pass because of the talent gap, surely Rees gets one as well. FFS our best wr is a transfer from Northwestern.
