Which statistics imply death? by garbageplate

Per the CDC, there have been 95 total deaths in males age 15-24 out of a population of 21,976,455, for a death rate of .00043%.

If you apply that rate to 130 FBS teams and assume 100 players per team, you have 13,000 players, which equates (if my math is right) to a 5% chance that one player would die. There is no way to quantify how playing football will alter that rate, so there would need to be a leap of faith before playing football or, for that matter, attending classes, going to restaurants, going to bars, spending time with friends or other activities.

My biggest issue is that the conference commissioners, university presidents and other stakeholders seem to be kidding themselves by stalling until there is a vaccine or other dramatic event. If any positive tests are too many, then just shut it down now and dispense with the charade.
