Logical way to keep ND... by Irisharab

Assume an 8 to 10 game, "conference only" season:

There are 14 ACC football teams. Seven in each division.

ND is already scheduled to play 6 ACC teams in 2020, instead of five. By coincidence, ND is playing 3 ACC teams in each of the two divisions.

Each of the "non-ND" ACC teams would play the six other teams within their division.

For the seventh game: The six ACC teams scheduled to play ND would still play ND. The other eight teams would play a cross-division game.

Games 8 through 10 would be other cross-division games.

ND would probably have to fill out their remaining 2-4 games with Independents. BYU and Army would be okay, but the other Div. I-A Independents would be atrocious.

If 2020 is a "conference only" season, ND would be better off with an 8 game season (6 ACC games, plus BYU and Army).
