Ohio State pounded ND as well in 2015 by MrE

with a DL comprised of Elston's recruits. 44 points, over 500 yards. 285 yards on the ground.

ND has played only a handful of top teams in the last 5 years, so it's possible only to review those games. Clemson, Ohio State, Georgia, Georgia. Michigan and Miami aren't even top teams.

(Add Miami - 41 points and 237 rushing yards - to the mix. Not an elite team).

The point is, the defense and D line isn't good enough to win those games. They are part of the problem, albeit farther down the list compared to other areas of poor talent (or poor strategy).

I'll reiterate 186 DL were ranked in the Top 100 of the last 10 recruiting classes. ND signed 0. 38 other programs have signed at least one. 15 programs have signed enough to average at 2 on any one roster (5 or more over the 10 years).

Better talent gets better results. If Elston had better talent, he'd get better results.
