Crawford Investment Counsel is seeking an investment professional to serve as a business development associate in our new Southern California office, with initial training at the Atlanta office. The position requires minimal travel.
Responsibilities
The business development associate will assist business development and client relationship professionals in securing new private investor client relationships through a referral network. The initial training will occur in the Atlanta, GA office for three to four months. After successful completion of initial training, the individual will relocate to our Southern California office.
Specific duties include:
Serving as the initial point of contact for referrals
Delivering the initial message about the firm’s investment services
Scheduling and making introductory calls to interested, potential clients
Coordinating and supporting the referral process with client relationship professionals by creating tailored investment policy statements, portfolio proposals, portfolio analyses, etc.
Pursuing a CFA designation and/or MBA to advance into either a dedicated business development or junior client relationship role
Qualifications
The ideal individual’s qualifications include:
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Excellent conversational and writing skills
Enthusiasm for learning and embracing the firm’s investment philosophy and message
Ability to explain technical information in a simple and logical manner
Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the industry or a strong analytical background is preferred
Prior industry experience is not necessary, but would be beneficial
