Want to hear your thoughts by Mr.Dillon

A little more than a year ago, I joined to work for a company (publicly traded, roughly 5,000 employees) while making an industry shift from my previous job. I recently began to realize that the company is thoroughly complacent and unmotivated, starting from the very top. CEO is in over his head and doesn't like to be challenged or disagreed with - perhaps the reason why my boss (CFO) is not on CEO's good side and is apathetic himself. Without any leadership or inspiration at the current company, I find myself not giving my best - often searching for job openings elsewhere.

I want to ask - is this how it is for most other companies, especially for publicly traded companies without any clear ownership? This is the first time I joined a big company after working as a financial services professional in smaller settings. I would like to hear your thoughts.
