Can we bring it back?

Completely useless baseball trivia that is...

Name for me the ten MLB players with the most in career earnings as of the end of the 2023 season. This is salary from the team earnings, not endorsements or anything else.

Hint: 3 are active.

Greinke, Sabathia, Fielder

I'm a little surprised Jeter is still there considering he has been retired for what... 10 years now?

Interestingly, the Baseball Reference list is a little

different. Cabrera topped ARod by one million bucks (which is so, so satisfying to see), and David Price and Derek Jeter make appearances on the tail end in place of Fielder and Beltran.

The recency bias is astounding but not surprising. A decade from now we'll still have Cabrera, ARod and Pujols most likely, but the remainder of the top ten will have completely turned over, and there might be three Padres on the list!

Hamilton as well but he didn't make the top 20.

Pujols is correct. Number 3.

I feel like Chris Davis and Jason Heyward are part of this list. Kershaw, Scherzer, Verlander and Greinke.

Then maybe ARod, Trout, Cabrera and Beltre?

[edit: having now looked it up, yikes did I miss a couple of big names]

I was surprised by the list

In particular 8, 9, and 10.
