spoke to a contact in the Milwaukee media and was told that the Brewers requested Quintana's medicals which is usually a sign a deal is close...We will see if it actually materializes

What's the Brewer farm system like? *

Tons of CFs. Hard to imagine them trading any of their pitching because there isn't much. Maybe Ortiz. Probably several of Ray, Phillips, Santana Erceg, Diaz, Gatewood, Clark . Would imagine they'll hold on to Brinson despite Quintana's contract. Will be disappointed if he is traded.

That's OK with me if the Sox don't get pitching

Well, not in this trade, anyway.

They got plenty in the Sale and Eaton trades, and also again selected a pitcher #1 in the draft.

They are in dire need of a centerfielder, though. Sounds like a win-win for both teams if they can get a good one for Quintana.

They did, but from the Cubs. *

Brewers love stocking players who play in the middle of the field (CF, 2B, SS, etc.).

Strength up the middle, and all that *

They had the clunker of the Feliz signing but have otherwise been above average. Garza's $12M anchor contract will be gone after this year.
