Bernard Langer at the Masters in 1993.

Interestingly, David Love II and Justin Leonard were the last two tour holdouts, using persimmon into 1997. Both changed to a modern driver that year, and both subsequently won majors that year.

Irwin made a 40+ foot putt on 18 on Sunday to force the playoff. Really felt sorry for Donald when he missed his par putt on 18 to win it on Monday. You just knew that was his one shot at a major.
