The East and the Central only have a 7 game gap between first place and last place
The West has a 12.5 game gap between first place and second place

That's...pretty unlikely isn't it?

They essentially concede the Central and West to Cleveland and Houston, and favor Boston over NYY in the east by about 2:1. Beyond that, they see the 2 wild card slots as a complete crapshoot, with every team in the mix to varying degrees except for one (the White Sox).


NL standings are interesting too.

Only team with a pulse (or even over .500) that isn't in a playoff spot is the Cubs.

It's not that over half of the NL is bad it is that nearly half of them are further below .500 than the worst AL team.
