I totally disagree w/ LeBatard on that point. I would be thrilled to see both of them leave town tomorrow.
They started w/ a $158mm investment, they turned nice profits on small payrolls, they got a publicly funded stadium, and now they'll cash in for $1.6 billion. Sweet deal. They did generally field good teams from 2003-2009, but there have been 7 straight losing seasons since then. They did make some shrewd acquisitions over the years (e.g. getting Uggla in Rule V draft), but they were totally heisted when they traded MLB's only Triple Crown winner of last 49 years. They changed managers at the drop of a hat.
Rumors have been swirling for some time now about the Fish being on the market. The backloading of the Stanton contract probably was the precursor of an eventual sale. They shouldn't be allowed to stick around through the A-S game.
