Saw this article on the NBA's new two-way contracts. They essentially give NBA teams control over 2 more players (16th and 17th roster spots)to stash in the G League. The pay is better than in the past, but much less than the NBA rookie minimum (somewhere between $75K and $279K vs the rookie mimium of around $800K).
More Americans could end up staying in the US and signing one of these deals instead of going to back to Europe this year. Teams are probably evaluating Auguste, Beachem and Cooley as two way players.
The article discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the new contract structure for players and teams.
