I have felt for awhile that the strength and conditioning program for the basketball team needed improvement. Some guys have taken advantage of the program, others don't appear any bigger or stronger than when they started. The backcourt guys plus CB seemed to wear down as the season went on and Sherman sure could use some "physicality" in the paint. I didn't hear coach Brey last night, but I an glad to hear talk about the strength and endurance of his team. Hopefully, there will some changes and accountability for guys who are not keeping up. I've always wondered how much supervision basketball guys who have been lifting at six a.m. in the summer have. A training table might be hard to do every day with all the travel once conference play starts. But wouldn't it be worth looking into for the summer sessions and the fall semester? If I was Brey I would be looking at anything that would help improve my team's strength and endurance.
