McLaughlin announcement today? Or lengthy "background check"?

We've seen in various assistant coach hirings that they've been leaked, tacitly acknowledged, but it's taken weeks of turnaround to finally make the formal hire. I assume that this is some combination of post-O'Leary institutional restrictions plus criminal/sex offender/etc. CYA plans, but it really comes across as quite bush-league when these news items break and yet then sit dormant for many days/weeks -- it certainly can't help institutional relationships, either, considering that UW has the professional courtesy to sit on anything about it, but how long are we going to make them do so (jeopardizing their recruiting, fan perception, etc.)?

Mid week *

from womens soccer is leaving. Former #1 recruit lost playing time as season progressed. Obviously there were signs as she did not make the U.S. women age team after having been captain and I thought she was struggling on the field with the speed of the game etc ... but she is talented and I am sad to see her go. Discussion is on Bigsoccer.

Looks like Agulbe is taking the graduate transfer route

and playing her 5th year at Minnesota. I think she missed all last season with injury. I wonder if that is a done deal or if she might reconsider with this hire.
