This from a man whose team, in order to win the league on goal difference, needed two goals at home in stoppage time against 10-man QPR, who learned just before the first of those goals that they had been spared relegation due to other results in the league.

But United's 15 point lead over City this season - all luck. United is in the last 16 of the Champions League while City couldn't even manage third spot or a single win in their CL group to salvage a Europa League appearance from their disastrous continental campaign. Lucky United, says Mancini.

Just for fun, rank the following six managers in order of their likelihood to return to their current teams next season: Ferguson, Mancini, Villas Boas, Benitez, Wenger, and Rodgers. I suggest Mancini was spared the indignity of occupying bottom spot by the FST's kamikaze job at Stamford Bridge. Of course, there would be less room at the bottom if Arsenal's board had any ambition. The good news for Mancini: the Sky Blues can probably start booking hotels in London for their semifinal match at Wembley. Surely, they won't lose to Barnsley. Right?
