I admitted my mistaken judgment.
I still question including both Donovan and Shea when most people didn't think they'd be fit, but not that big of a deal. I'll also say that, frankly, we looked pretty bad most of the match and other than Johnson's two headers, he didn't do much - but all that matters is goals.
I couldn't even watch the game--was following along with GameCast. The in-game analysis was...uninspiring.
Could be worse. At least we are not Irish. Have to imagine that there's a bunch of folks contemplating dives into the Liffey after their showing today.
Post with respect to Johnson and Altidore.
On the internet.
"I communicated with Jozy that I was not happy about his latest performances with us, maybe even the last 14 months," Klinsmann told reporters on a conference call Monday afternoon. "I think Jozy can do much, much better. The reason why he's not coming in is mainly about the performances (last month) in Jamaica and at home and in training, also certain things that went on in the May-June camp."
I wonder what those "certain things" were. Also, I'm happy Donovan was able to make the squad despite the injury.
No replacements are being brought in.
Just scored again last night for his 14th goal of the season, and has had an amazing resurgence this year. I have no problem with giving him a chance at this stage, and he certainly deserves it.
I know he has been good for the Sounders this season, but I just feel like we've been down this road before.
