A remarkable season for Chelsea

Chelsea's 93 points this season are the second highest of any PL season tally behind their own 95 points in 2004-05.

And Spurs are left with nothing to show for an outstanding league campaign of their own.

Their 86 points would have only won the league in 9 of 25 PL seasons (including the first three PL seasons which featured 42 matches).

The 86 points, however, is tied for the third-best tally for a second place squad (1994-95 Manchester United: 88 points in 42 matches; 2008-09 Liverpool: 86 points; 2011-12 Manchester United: 89 points).

Their +60 goal differential is the fourth-best in PL history (2009-10 Chelsea: +71; 2011-12 Manchester City: +64; 2013-14 Manchester City: +65). It is the highest of any second place team.

And, nothing to show. Sigh. Here's to hoping next season at Wembley doesn't tear this squad apart.
