High motor, tough, low to the ground, undersized, high determination. He would be well suited to CONCACAF games so European players don't have to spend 8 hours crossing an ocean.

He has about a 0.5 goal per game scoring average for KC over the last three years (22 goals, 12 goals, 16 goals) and has been healthy/durable over that timespan.

I feel like Altidore has had a nice career up to now, but his club form is really disappointing me the last two years. He may have gone the early demise career path. Dwyer is only 26. He could replace Altidore or Dempsey as they fade into the sunset.

Dwyer and Morris together would be one hell of a late game substitution really putting a pace and determination hurt on a tiring back line.

Your penultimate sentence may be the key.

And yes, my original question showed my completely MLS ignorance

He's probably behind Dempsey, Altidore, Wood, and Morris

right now, so just outside of the 23. But like you mentioned Dempsey and Altidore could be on their way out soon. Most importantly, this means another player between Wondo and the USMNT.
