UCONN did get some benefit from stacking up against ND multiple times in the season to get a measure of what they need to work on.
Unless they schedule a brutal out of conference schedule, how are they going to get that in their new league?
I'd argue that part of the reason why 3 of the Final Four teams were from the Big East is because of how strong the league schedule was and how they were well tested teams. I'd argue that is part of the reason why the other top seeds didn't make it. Sure there was a bit of early season play with the top teams, but nothing later in the season.
