UConn's plan was to play aggressively on defense knowing that they won't call all of the fouls. Their rough and tumble approach may have had an effect on shooting. ND's guards were hand checked on every possession. Braker's second foul was the result of Dolson pushing Braker into Stewart. All of those so-called blocked shots may have been clean on the ball, but the rules say you can't hit the shooter with the body. Just because ND had way more foul attempts than UConn in the first half, doesn't mean they should not have had more. Unfortunately, with college officiating, you never know what is going to be called on any given night. Kanter and DeMayo are terrible refs, but probably are better than most - a sad state of affairs.
