6'6" Gracie Merkel from Bellarmine. Out of curiosity I

watched her freshman year highlights. (She averaged 15 ppg. & 11 rpg.). Of note, she led the nation in fg%, hitting just over 70%.

She was the ASUN Rookie of the year. She did not play last year due to a foot issue, which required surgery.

My take is she has good hands and keeps the ball up high. She struggles getting up and down the court. That could be alleviated somewhat with a conditioning/nutritional/strength program.

Gracie is an old fashioned low post type.

Also, I wasn't sure where Bellarmine is, so I found out it's in Louisville. (In fact they played Louisville.)

I don't see her as a fit for next years N.D. team, but in a lesser league she could be difficult to handle.
