Wisconsin loses at home to Ohio State.

Ohio State becomes only the third team to win a road Big Ten hockey quarter-final series, winning 2 of three this weekend in Madison. We were the second, losing to MSU last season. Ohio State was the first team to lose a quarter final at home, to Penn State at the end of the 2021-22 season. They also lost a Big Ten semi-final to Penn State in Columbus in 2019, allowing us to host Penn State for the final.

Before we joined the league the conference tournament was all at a single, neutral site, alternating between the X in St. Paul and the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

Talk about running out of steam. Wisconsin dropped 4 games to OSU in the last 4 weeks. Wisconsin now gets to sit around and get rusty for 2 weeks awaiting their NCAA opponent (they are in no matter what else happens).

Next Saturday MSU will host OSU in one semi-final and Minnesota will host Michigan in the other.
