It's quite understandable that a 5th year player wants the opportunity to get substantial playing time on what be his final tear playing the sport. Upgraded talent in the defensive backfield (recruiting + portal) led to decreasing playing time.

Lewis has his ND degree, so he can enter any time essentially (April 30 is the deadline for everyone, both grad and undergrad).
