What could possibly be the logic in NOT naming an interim head coach and it boxing yourself in by saying that any interim coach would not be a candidate for the head coaching job?

My only prayer is that he actually already has a deal in place with Fickell but that Fickell refused to pull a Brian Kelly on his team. I put the chances of that at under 5%
