Max Browne probably thought he had a clear shot to beat out whatever was there in the Spring and Fall and now there is a risk that Wittek will beat him out and at least have a chance to win the job while Browne is extremely green. If that happens then Browne is looking at a long wait whereas he may have thought he had a clear shot at starting all foru years.
