Wouldn't LSU have flipped their best pass rusher over top of him too, so on top of what you said he in effect came off the bench and started at "LT" against one of the best SEC defenses and did very well.
I commented when we moved Lombard back to RT mid-season that I was concerned that with a bum ankle he might not be effective at pass blocking and would lack an ability to drive block for running plays. To what extent do you think it was a mistake not making this switch earlier versus McGlinchey got a lot better over the year and what we saw yesterday would not have existed 6 games earlier?
