Golson was certainly a huge upgrade in terms of system fit compared with guys like Rees and Crist, but that doesn't mean he's the best guy forever. He has turned into an absolute turnover machine (by himself, he has more turnovers than 118 Division 1 teams), and he doesn't bring anything in the zone-read game.
And I'm really not sure why you're so worried about an off-season quarterback controversy. Identifying the best player for the 2015 season is more important than having "the guy" identified now. It's far more unfair to Zaire to annoint Golson as the starter until he graduates than it is to simply start the guy who's playing the best.
