after the dust settled from the SMU case. It's too bad they didn't stand their ground after that and say "here is what will happen when institutions lose control". Then it would be less likely to have the mess that is big-time college athletics today. They should have made further examples of Miami, Baylor, FSU and USC football (to name a few) and most of all UNC basketball. In the realm of college athletics/academia UNC is one of the worst examples of how athletics has corrupted academic departments and officials.
