About the only folks that thought he was a top 5 pick was the folks that run their mock drafts. As noted by more than one scout, he has never been seen by the pros as a high impact guy as opposed to a solid player who can be a solid player in the middle for a long time but not a guy who makes dynamic plays that warrant a top 10-15 pick.
That might be good for Te'o in that he gets picked a good team that won't have huge expectations to be an instant impact player.
