Yes, I know he and Savvy Jack are friends. Yes, I know UT athletics is rolling in money.
He is the devil. He has little regard for the student in student-athlete. His sports budget operates totally aside from UT academics. He explains away the poor graduation rates at Texas. He has systematically pissed off plenty of other programs (see the Big XII exodus of Nebraska and Texas A&M). His Longhorn Network is a debacle which most TVs in Austin can't even get. Texas football is a rudderless ship right now with a head coach who looks "bumfuzzled" like Bowden/Paterno in their later years. His "we are the Jones's" and "we are better than you" shtick has worn thin...recently he publicly said (paraphrased) "at least we aren't Missouri" in response to Texas' recent subpar seasons in big-ticket sports.
I think Jack knows better.
Oh, and Texas has the most gawd-awful gaudy Jumbotron this side of, well, Texas.
