I saw the Paterno family spokesman dismissing the emails
by Zipherius  (2013-02-10 21:58:51)     Delete  |  Edit  |  Return to Board  |  Ignore Poster   |   Highlight Poster  |   Reply to Post

because
1) they were only found on the school president's computer but not elsewhere because of
a computer changeover at PSU in 2004...this is somehow supposed to make the emails
less valid. and
2) They weren't written by Joe but on his behalf and they mention that "Coach wants to know
how the investigation is coming" and that the "Coach" being referred to "could have been"
Sandusky and not Paterno even though the high level writer of the email was Paterno's
running boy.

They are saying that this is not enough of the kind of strong evidence needed to convict a person.

All, in all, a big waste of money aimed at creating plausible alternatives to a simpler & more obvious reality that most of the public has come to believe.

If I was paterno

And did the first right move and tell your superiors whose responsibility it would be to contact the authorities....and a day later let alone months and years saw nothing being done and Sandusky around the football facilities,,,then I would never be able to look my grandchild in the eye

That's my take as well.

Even if you buy all of the other stuff they are trying to peddle here, how could you continue to see Sandusky bringing young boys in & around the building and not do anything about it? Especially when you are the King.

Might have saved them the whole circus that followed.

Remember, he told the grand jury that McQueary told him

he saw Sandusky with a boy in a sexual situation. Pattern did the right thing by telling his superiors then never following up on it. During all this, Sandusky had free reign in the football building.
People who worked in the football office have said that they could not change the color of their carpet or wall hangings without Paternos approval, but somehow he couldn't kick Sandusky out of the building after he knew he raped a boy.
It all makes perfect sense. He's innocent.

The other night I saw on the ESPN crawl that the Paterno Family had sent an e-mail to their PSU minions that they were going to release a response to the Freeh Report the next day. All I could think of was, "AGAIN?"

Their website is having issues.........

I was able to get through pages 1-3 of one segment but was unsuccessful getting to page 4. And now I can't get to the website at all. Just the letters 'TPR' in bold appear,

It's now accessible. Funny how Paterno's good works..

through the years are mentioned as a way of establishing his integrity. Well, how many years of good works could Sandusky cite in his own behalf? Not exactly a good argument to use.

have retired 20 years earlier, before he lost his mental ability to handle those beneath him. Since Joe was obviously in over his head and unable to see it, after Sandusky, I blame the Paterno family and Penn State for not stepping in. With all the kids that were molested, if the worse thing that happened to Joe was a loss of a record, a statue and a reputation, he got off lucky.
