As I recall, Ronnie Stanley had elbow surgery and would not have been available anyway. Matt Hegarty had the heart issue, and may not have been cleared. Tate Nichols is probably done. That left the starting 5, plus Hanratty, Heggie and Martin. Harrell was practicing as the back-up center, but they did not want to burn a year. An injury to Martin or Lombard and we were doomed.

The depth at DL is not much better. The fall-off from KLM, Tuitt and Nix is pretty steep.

I am sure the team practiced hard, just not full contact and to the ground as much as they needed to stay sharp. We did have the look of a Weis team in the game.
