He was talking about the unimportance of recruiting rankings.
He said "why is it that Auburn is top five in recruting every year but yet they don't win and coaches get fired?"

Chiznik (sp) is on the panel he was talking to.

and before he went to South Carolina he was an analyst for CBS. When apparently Davie claimed that the poor record in mid-'97 was due to a falloff in recruiting, Lou (rightly) pointed out on the air the high recruiting rankings of the classes Davie had at his disposal (with a patented Lou "hey, I'm just sayin' . . ." disclaimer).


I'm reminded of Dennis Eckersley.
