in the sense that the team with the young QB and little experience on the big stage came out and filled their pants with stool early in the game. One difference though is I think the 49ers might actually be better than Ravens, whereas even if ND played their A game, I think we'd still need a break or two to win.

Your "one difference" destroys the entire comparison. *

I shouldn't have insinuated the games were similar, but instead I should have said they had a similarity. On the big stage, the team with more big game experience and with the more experienced QB got out of the gate a lot quicker. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but maybe it's not.

You are trying like crazy to rationalize the BSC game...ain't no rationalizing needed, we got treated like France. Hopefully we learn from it and don't build a Maginot Line.

How about the AFC Championship then?

Except the Pats were at home, favored, more experienced and got smoked. Football is a funny game, even at the pro level. In the NC game, Alabama was better, but to that much better. Even good teams don't show up when they should.

level as Alabama. Alabama played as well as perfectly possible in the BCS game, in my opinion. Even if ND would have brought their A game after going down 14 - 0 they still would have lost big.

there's no comparison between the two games
