anyone care to sum up where ND is now and what needs to happen between now and signing day - for those of us that follow recruiting less intensely?

Mike Frank's latest podcast has a good summary.

There are only about 2 spots left for uncommitted players. DT Eddie Vanderdoes and DE Kylie Fitts are probably the two most desired. Ty Isaac is a 5 star RB but not likely to commit. (We have 2 good RBs in this class already.)

Mike mentioned Eddie and Kylie are both hesitant to go to

school far from home (Calif), but both liked ND. It will be interesting to see what they decide to do.

Having gone to school 1700 miles from home....

without having been there, this factor is not even one to consider for me. You judge a school on what it offers that meet your needs....academics, athletics, coaches, competition. Kids will find friends anywhere, and weather and social opportunities for elite football players are near the bottom of the list of priorities. For golf, weather is close to the top.

If kids are into getting a meaningful degree, being challenged to grow up, expand there horizons to the edge of the universe, be part of a caring and giving world population, in addition to achieving their athletic potential, there are few from which to choose. If they want to put all their eggs in one basket and forgo all thoughts of the next 40 years....well, they are kids and how many can make sound decisions at that age?

Well, those are YOUR reasons. Not theirs

Everyone is different. I'll never fault a kid for wanting to be near their mom/dad/family. That is a good thing, not bad.

We're so close to signing day

It's required that we criticize anyone who commits elsewhere for any reason they choose. What a mama's boy! Sounds like a wimp, we don't want him anyway!
