Clare Locke LLP is a nationally recognized boutique law firm dedicated to litigating complex defamation matters and representing sophisticated clients facing high-profile reputational attacks. We have a fast-moving national defamation litigation practice in state and federal courts across the country. Our clients are Fortune 100 companies, technology companies, hedge funds, private equity firms, professional sports teams, founders, CEOs, and other high net worth individuals who — by virtue of their success, public profile, and nationally recognized brands — are unfairly targeted by the media. Founded by Notre Dame graduate Tom Clare (NDLS 1995) and Libby Locke in 2014, our growing firm is based in historic offices on the waterfront in Alexandria, VA.

We have received national attention for our high profile trial wins against Rolling Stone magazine on behalf of a University of Virginia dean falsely accused of covering up a fraternity gang rape, our record-setting $52.1 million defamation award against a prominent hedge fund in a FINRA arbitration, and our successful representation of Dominion Voting Systems in high-profile defamation litigation against Fox News relating to false claims of election rigging in the 2020 Presidential election, resulting in a highly publicized $787.5 million settlement.

Clare Locke LLP is hiring junior to mid-level associates and counsel with at least one year of law firm experience in general litigation to join our firm to work on these exciting matters. Qualified candidates must have top academic credentials from a tier-one law school, excellent writing skills, and first-rate research and interpersonal skills. Our firm provides Big-Law level service and work product for our clients, and applicants should not only have references and recommendations that are commensurate with our high expectations for client service, but also to ensure the right fit with our small, close-knit firm.
