I remember when the Oregon State Beavers beat #1 North Carolina two years in a row. When UVA won last year I was surprised at how futile the ACC has been. The top 3 participants in World Series without a championship are all from the ACC with FSU leading the way.

1. FSU 21 appearances
2. Clemson- 12 appearances
3. North Carolina - 10 appearances.

The ACC school with the most appearance is Miami at 24 but only the last 5 have been while they have been in the ACC. They won 4 championships as an independent before getting in the ACC. Only Va Tech and Pitt have not been to the series as 10 ACC schools have been to the World Series without winning (including Syracuse when they had a team in 1961).

The PAC12 schools have been the most effective over the years. Seven PAC12 schools have won the championship with Souther Cal leading all NCAA schools at 12 (21 CWS appearances), ASU-5 (22), Arizona-4 (16), OSU-2 (5), Cal-2 (6), Stanford-2 (16), and UCLA 1 (5). 3 others have made it, WSU (4) with Oregon and Utah making it once.
