I certainly didn't remember starting 7-1 under Murphy or Mainieri, but it's still pretty damned impressive and remarkable that it's our best start in 53 years.


During the run we had in from late 80's to 2006, we seemed

to be notoriously slow starters on the diamond. Then you'd look up and we'd be 47-15.


That's pretty much how it felt

In fact, if we had so much as a 5-3 start, it seemed to mean we'd end up hosting an NCAA regional.
