We're having a party for him Super Bowl weekend, then he heads to Great Lakes for a few months, then Charleston for nuclear training.

The NUC Power School in Charleston (actually Goose Creek) at the old Navy Weapons Station is in the "boonies"...he'll be here for more than 18 months...just getting to the Base Exchange is a hike. Don't have an idea for a gift...he won't need much while in Boot Camp. Charleston area will be nice in the spring - if he likes golf - there is a nearby course (on the Base) that is not real expensive.

There's a lot of tradition in that.

Slightly OT - Down in SC, he will meet up with 4 Domers who just went down there for sub training in September. Great bunch of kids who I've known for a couple years. They received a package of Katz's right before Christmas.
