A great man, who understood the role of "in loco parentis" perfectly.
One day, we were meeting our HCC Saint at Pulte. There was Brother Joe, having a cigarette outside the door of the Hall. Recognizing us, he told us not to worry about our son.
"I see him coming in from Band every night. Don't worry, Mom - he's eating OK. He has his Subway with him every Wednesday night."
Thank you, Brother Joe, for looking out for our Saint. We can't begin to express our gratitude and the comfort you gave us.
Eternal rest grant into him, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed,
Through the Mercy of God,
Rest in peace. Amen.
