We got our 15-year-old and 13-year-old laptops for Christmas. [The old Dell desktop wasn't able to handle the workload any longer.]
It's probably a good idea to get software to make sure that the kids stay out of trouble on the Internet, particularly given that the 15-year-old (whose a good kid, really) has learned to delete her tracks on Google Chrome. We have spoken with them about appropriate and inappropriate use, and the laptops are only to be used in the living room and dining room rather than in their bedrooms.
Any suggestions? NetNanny is one program that I've come across. Does anyone have experience with it or any other type of similar software?
