Best computer backup site?

I am looking for a service/site that gives me the best option for backing up files on my computer (pictures, videos, word and excel docs, downloaded programs, etc).

Any suggestions?

Or would it make more sense to get an external backup hard drive? I'd prefer not to have any additional drives laying around the office, but if that's the best option........
