Easily done in the winter, not so much in the summer. Need to get a smaller framed pistol in .45 ACP or 40 S&W for warm weather carry.
My best advice in addition to the people who have advised you to get very proficient, is to get a round that has enough stopping power that an imperfect shot placement will still be effective. The 9mm is not that round.
