Today's entry is another of Bettye's renditions of a C&W song. It was written by Hank Cochran. In 1965,Ray Price was the first of many artists to send their version up the C&W charts. Willie Nelson, Ronnie Milsap, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Hank Locklin, and more recently, Jamey Johnson are just a few of the C&W performers that have covered it.
