That's why we're asking why this happened and didn't ask the same question when a drug courier got shot on 58th Street yesterday. As individuals we hurt others all the time, and as tribes and nations we hurt other tribes and nations. But this actually is different, and I don't think we did have too many kindergarten massacres in the old west. We can be rugged individualists without being lone shooters, if we have family and God. Take those away and what makes us American does indeed start to make us something much worse.
